Muheop, Overseas Bases After 6 Years... Branches in Texas, USA and Poland
Support for Samsung, LG Energy Solution Factories, and Others
The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) will consecutively open branches in Dallas, Texas, USA, and Warsaw, Poland this year. This marks the addition of overseas bases for the first time in six years since establishing a branch in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2018.
According to KITA on the 29th, branches will be newly established in Dallas and Warsaw within this year. In Texas, Samsung Electronics' Austin plant is operational, and a Samsung Electronics foundry (semiconductor contract manufacturing) plant is under construction in Taylor City. In Poland, there are LG Energy Solution's electric vehicle battery plant and SK Nexilis' copper foil plant. KITA branches will perform buyer matching with material, parts, and equipment companies operating in these regions, arrange exhibitions, conduct various paper (data) research, and handle public services.

The establishment of branches is reported to be more focused on supporting partner companies rather than large corporations that have already entered the local market. The Dallas branch will support partner companies related to Samsung's foundry plant, the Hyundai electric vehicle-only plant under construction in Georgia, LG Energy Solution's Michigan plant, Samsung SDI's Indiana plant, and SK On's Kentucky plant. Typical tasks include liaising with political and business figures, exhibitions, and buyer contacts.
The Warsaw branch will also collaborate with companies in various fields such as electric vehicle batteries including LG Energy Solution and SK Nexilis, as well as the defense industry. Recently, exports of defense and nuclear power plants have been promoted, showing an increasing trend in trade and investment between the two countries. In the future, it will also support participation in Ukraine reconstruction projects.
With the opening of the Texas branch, it will be the third in the United States following New York and Washington, and the second in Europe following Brussels.
