Pukyong National University Launches Regional Specialized Youth Trade Expert Training Project Ceremony
Hosted by the Department of International Trade, Over 40 Students to Participate on the 23rd
National Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-su) held the launch ceremony for the 2024 PKNU YTP Regional Specialized Young Trade Experts Training Project (GTEP·Glocal Trade Experts incubating Program).

View original imageThe Regional Specialized Young Trade Experts Training Project, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and operated by the Korea International Trade Association, is a program designed to cultivate global talents equipped with trade theory and practical field experience.
With support from local governments, 20 universities nationwide are participating in the project. National Pukyong National University, selected for this year’s project, will newly participate with a focus on the Southeast Asia region starting from the 18th term.
The PKNU YTP GTEP team at National Pukyong National University has been active since 2022 as the Busan Metropolitan City University Student Trade Support Group in collaboration with the Busan Economic Promotion Agency’s Export One-Stop Center. With the selection for this GTEP project, they plan to expand and develop the project scale to strengthen support capabilities for export beginner companies in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam (Bu-Ul-Gyeong) region.
The launch ceremony held on the 23rd in Room 1013 of the Humanities, Social Sciences and Business Building at National Pukyong National University was attended by Bae Jun-young, Head of the Department of International Trade, Son Young-seok, Head of the Trade Support Team at Busan Economic Promotion Agency, GTEP supervising professors, and about 40 PKNU YTP GTEP students selected through an open recruitment for PKNU students last December.
PKNU YTP GTEP students plan to participate in multiple international exhibitions and conduct practical export marketing training this year, while strengthening collaboration with the Busan Economic Promotion Agency to support export companies in Busan.

Project Director Ahn Tae-geon (Professor of the Department of International Trade) said, “In the midst of the recent global supply chain crisis and increasing armed conflicts, we plan to promote a program to cultivate capable trade experts who can support regional export companies and assist with e-commerce marketing.”
