Gas Corporation Leads Clean and Transparent Integrity Management
President Choi Yeon-hye Emphasizes Integrity and Ethics
Strengthening Dedicated Organization for Integrity Culture
Korea Gas Corporation recognizes 'integrity and ethical management' as a critical issue for the company's existence and is strengthening the execution of integrity and ethics to leap forward as a trusted public enterprise.
According to the Gas Corporation on the 26th, President Choi Yeon-hye emphasized at the 40th anniversary founding ceremony last August, "Integrity and ethical management are essential management virtues that affect the corporation's existence, so let us create a clean Gas Corporation free from corruption based on fairness and common sense."
In addition, President Choi personally conducted integrity leadership training for senior executives and held integrity meetings at all 16 business sites to communicate with employees. The fact that the head of the institution personally emphasized the importance of integrity and ethical management company-wide strongly reflects the will that management must lead by example to become a clean public enterprise trusted by the public.
The Gas Corporation has also comprehensively reorganized its promotion system to ensure that a culture prioritizing integrity and ethics is well established throughout the company. Centered on the Integrity and Ethical Management Committee, the highest decision-making body for ethical management hosted by the head of the institution, the organizational structure was refined to include the 'Integrity Policy Committee' to intensively identify and improve corruption-prone areas, and the 'Open Consultative Body' to resolve integrity issues through communication with internal and external stakeholders at the field level. Each headquarters identifies vulnerable areas and improves them, and a virtuous feedback system is established through quarterly performance checks to supplement deficiencies.
Furthermore, the corporation actively collects opinions from the public and stakeholders to enhance fairness and transparency in its operations. Factors that undermine work fairness are identified in advance through employee surveys, interviews, and anonymous bulletin boards, and appropriate mitigation measures are prepared considering the likelihood and impact of potential problems. In particular, the Gas Corporation has preemptively identified customer inconveniences in its core business area of natural gas supply and revised systems and policies related to gas systems and pipeline facilities.
Education to improve employees' ethical awareness is also continuously conducted. Customized training by rank, from new employees to senior executives, along with on-site visiting education, has led to improved evaluation results compared to the previous year in areas such as internal integrity level, senior-level corruption risk, and corporate culture diagnosis.
