Gangnam-gu to Award Total of 2.4 Million KRW Through 'Naega Geurin (GREEN) Environmental Education Program' Contest from January 29 to February 16, to Be Used as School Educational Content
Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) will hold the "2024 Environmental Innovation Education Program Contest" from the 29th of this month to the 16th of next month to discover various environmental education contents.
Launched for the first time last year, this contest was very popular as anyone interested in the environment, including students who are the recipients of environmental education, teachers, and residents, could directly create environmental education programs.
Last year, 19 outstanding works were selected, including ▲a board game experience containing carbon neutrality practice plans ▲a one-week challenge of carbon emissions in daily life ▲creating artificial intelligence to save the Earth, and 30 schools were supported to use the programs for education.
Due to the positive response last year, this contest will continue this year as well. Submissions are invited for ▲environmental education programs tailored to the interests and preferences of elementary and middle school students ▲ideas reflecting environmental issues and environmental policy trends ▲differentiated ideas reflecting recent educational conditions such as coding and AI.
Those who wish to participate can download the application form from the district office website and submit the program proposal, consent form for personal information collection and use, and pledge by email. Up to three entries per person can be submitted, and detailed information can be found in the announcement on the district office website.
The submitted proposals will be evaluated from February 19 to 23 based on criteria such as the appropriateness of environmental education, suitability for the target audience, and feasibility of operation, with a total prize of 2.4 million KRW. Awards will be given as follows: ▲Grand Prize 1 person (award and 500,000 KRW) ▲Excellence Prize 3 persons (award and 300,000 KRW) ▲Encouragement Prize 5 persons (award and 100,000 KRW) ▲Idea Prize 10 persons (each 50,000 KRW).
The winning works will be used as environmental education programs for the "Environmental Learning Practice Schools" targeting local elementary, middle, and special schools. For more details, inquiries can be made to the Environment and Climate Change Response Team.
The district will hold a contest promotion event from January 22 to February 16. Participants can capture the contest card news on the district office website and upload it to their blog or Instagram, or share posts from the district office blog and Instagram on their SNS, then send the link via Naver Form. Afterwards, 80 participants will be selected by lottery to receive Starbucks gifticons.
