Vice Minister of Economy: "Focused Management of Over 180 Livelihood Projects in the First Half of the Year"
Joint 'Fiscal Execution Review Meeting' of Secondary Related Ministries
The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced that it will select and intensively manage about 180 livelihood projects to restore the people's economy.
On the 25th, Kim Yoon-sang, the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, presided over the 2nd joint 'Fiscal Execution Inspection Meeting' with related ministries at the Government Seoul Office and discussed plans to promote the rapid execution of livelihood projects.
Vice Minister Kim said, "The government is making every effort for the public sector to rapidly execute the budget in the first half of the year so that the warmth of economic recovery can spread more quickly to the livelihood sites."
He emphasized that among the projects reflected in the 2024 budget, about 180 livelihood projects that directly affect the lives of the people will be selected and intensively managed, including ▲support to reduce financial and energy burdens on small business owners ▲support for youth in transportation, jobs, and daily life ▲parental benefits and special housing supply for newborns for child-rearing families ▲livelihood benefits for low-income groups ▲and job support for the elderly.
To this end, the fiscal authorities and each ministry plan to form a 'whole-of-government one team' to inspect key livelihood projects on a weekly basis. Vice Minister Kim stressed, "We will thoroughly manage the livelihood projects centered on the ministers and vice ministers of each ministry to actively inform the public so that no one misses out on benefits due to lack of awareness."

Finally, he announced plans to conduct weekly fiscal execution inspections in the first quarter to restore the livelihood economy in the first half of this year. He added, "Through joint fiscal execution inspection meetings with related ministries, we will continuously monitor the rapid execution status, promptly resolve difficulties, and improve the execution speed."
