Foreigners' 'Palja'... KOSPI and KOSDAQ Both Decline

View original imageAs of 9:48 a.m. on this day, the KOSPI index was trading at 2461.51, down 8.18 points (0.33%) from the previous trading day. The KOSPI index opened at 2467.73, down 1.96 points (0.08%), and has not rebounded since. Foreigners sold 20.6 billion KRW worth of stocks, while institutions and individuals net bought 14 billion KRW and 44.1 billion KRW, respectively.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Celltrion (1.05%), Samsung Biologics (0.89%), Hyundai Motor (0.76%), Samsung Electronics (0.68%), and Kia (0.34%) are rising. Conversely, POSCO Future M (-4.02%), LG Energy Solution (-3.42%), POSCO Holdings (-2.50%), NAVER (-2.06%), Kakao (-1.94%), and KakaoBank (-1.71%) are declining.
By sector, pharmaceuticals (0.80%), transportation equipment (0.57%), telecommunications (0.53%), and insurance (0.17%) rose. On the other hand, most sectors such as steel and metals (-1.85%), services (-1.49%), transportation and warehousing (-1.00%), medical precision (-0.55%), machinery (-0.51%), chemicals (-0.50%), and distribution (-0.44%) are in decline.
On the 24th (local time), the New York stock market closed mixed. It started strong on corporate earnings and economic recovery expectations but was later affected by weak demand for Treasury auctions and price burdens from recent gains. On the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 37,806.39, down 99.06 points (0.26%) from the previous session. The large-cap-focused S&P 500 index rose 3.95 points (0.08%) to 4,868.55, marking its fourth consecutive record high. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite index closed at 15,481.92, up 55.97 points (0.36%).
At the same time, the KOSDAQ index fell 8.23 points (0.98%) from the previous session to 827.98. The index opened at 833.34, down 2.87 points (0.34%), and widened its losses. Foreigners and institutions net sold stocks worth 106.2 billion KRW and 68.9 billion KRW, respectively. Individuals bought stocks worth 195.9 billion KRW.

Among the top market capitalization stocks, HLB (8.08%), HPSP (5.58%), EO Technics (3.88%), and Rino Industrial (2.01%) are on the rise. Conversely, L&F (-8.47%), LS Materials (-8.31%), EcoPro BM (-5.02%), EcoPro (-4.05%), and JPY Entertainment (JYP Ent.) (-3.56%) are falling.
