Gwangjin-gu Launches 'Seoul Mom Dad Taxi' Project
Annual 100,000 KRW Taxi Use Points Support for Families with Infants Under 24 Months
Apply by November 30 via i.M Taxi Mobile App... Points Granted After Eligibility Verification
Usable Until December 15, Unused Points Will Expire
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is recruiting applicants for the ‘Seoul Mom Dad Taxi’ service, which helps families with infants under 24 months old with their transportation needs, starting from the 23rd.
The Seoul Mom Dad Taxi is a service that supports travel with large vans when going out with children. Last year, Gwangjin-gu recorded over 8,000 uses of this service.
Any caregiver of an infant under 24 months registered in Gwangjin-gu can apply through the i.M (i.M) Taxi mobile app. Benefits are available not only to parents but also to actual caregivers registered as residents along with the infant.
The taxis are equipped with droplet protection screens and car seats for infant families. When calling a taxi through the app, users can freely travel anywhere within Seoul with their child. Starting this year, reservation fees are also waived for pre-booked rides.
The application period is until November 30, and applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, so the program may end early.
Taxi vouchers are issued in the form of points after verifying eligibility. The usage period is until December 15, and users can freely use up to 100,000 KRW regardless of the purpose or number of uses. However, if it is confirmed that the infant is not accompanied or the voucher is transferred to others, the support amount will be reclaimed.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We will do our best to support the mobility of families with infants who have a lot to prepare when going out, reducing the burden of child-rearing and making Gwangjin-gu a better environment for childbirth and childcare.”
