Collaboration Among Village Residents, Local Governments, and Related Agencies
The Nakdong River Basin Environmental Office held an 'Eco-Plogging Event' on the 24th in Hucheon Village, Seongsan-myeon, Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, to reduce fine dust in rural areas.
Plogging refers to an environmental activity of picking up trash while walking or running.
A total of about 70 people from related organizations, including Changnyeong-gun, Seongsan-myeon, Hucheon Village, and the Korea Environment Corporation, participated in the event to collect abandoned trash around the village and conduct a campaign to eradicate illegal burning.
Eco-Plogging was prepared as part of the 5th Fine Dust Seasonal Management Plan to reduce fine dust in rural areas, aiming to encourage active participation of village residents in preventing illegal burning in rural areas.
In collaboration with village residents, local governments, and related organizations, rural trash collection and separation and disposal of agricultural waste will be carried out. It is scheduled to be held monthly from January to March in three local governments including Changnyeong.
