Public Transport Discount 'Incheon I-Pass' to Launch in May This Year... 30% Refund for 65 and Older
Incheon City's new public transportation discount support policy, 'Incheon I-Pass,' is scheduled to be implemented starting this May.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, along with Seoul City, Incheon City, and Gyeonggi Province, held a joint press conference on the 22nd at the Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul, to introduce government and local governments' public transportation cost support projects and promised to expand benefits through four-party cooperation.

First, Seoul City will begin a pilot project for the 'Climate Companion Card' starting on the 27th. Full implementation is scheduled for July. The government and Gyeonggi Province will each implement the 'K-Pass' and 'The Gyeonggi Pass' starting in May, and Incheon City is aiming to apply the 'Incheon I-Pass' from May as well.
The Incheon I-Pass reimburses 20% of public transportation costs (30% for youth, 53% for low-income groups) as per the government's K-Pass benefits, but it expands the K-Pass monthly limit of 60 rides to unlimited. In particular, unlike the K-Pass and The Gyeonggi Pass, the reimbursement rate for seniors aged 65 and over will be increased from 20% to 30% in the first half of this year (gradually expanding up to 50%).
While the K-Pass supports youth aged 19 to 34, Incheon City plans to expand the youth age range to 19 to 39 and include children and adolescents aged 6 to 18. However, the implementation timeline will be phased, considering administrative and financial conditions and system construction periods.
Additionally, the 'Metropolitan I-Pass,' introduced in response to Seoul City's Climate Companion Card's season ticket concept, will allow citizens commuting between Incheon and Seoul to use Incheon metropolitan buses unlimitedly for 30 days, starting from August. The season ticket price will be decided later, taking into account citizens' usage patterns and demand.
