Jeongeup-si to Accept Applications for 'Basic Public Interest Direct Payment' Starting Next Month

Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 22nd that it will accept non-face-to-face applications for the basic public interest direct payment from the 1st to the 29th of next month.

The eligible applicants for non-face-to-face applications are farmers whose basic public interest direct payment registration information from last year and agricultural management entity registration information for this year have not changed.

To encourage active participation in the simple non-face-to-face application, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs will sequentially send application guidance text messages to eligible farmers who have passed the preliminary qualification verification.

Recipients of the text message can access the application site indicated in the message and proceed in the following order: ▲personal authentication ▲consent to provide personal information ▲confirmation of eligible farmers and farmland ▲confirmation of expected payment amount and application.

Afterwards, they can apply for the direct payment through the automated response system (ARS).

New applicants, agricultural corporations, and farmers who did not apply non-face-to-face should visit the administrative welfare center of the eup, myeon, or dong with the largest cultivated farmland area to apply from March to April 30.

However, even if registered as an agricultural management entity, farmers who do not meet the eligibility requirements for direct payment recipients or farmland may be excluded.

Also, new applicants, out-of-area cultivators, and those with long-term elderly care grade assessments must submit a cultivation confirmation letter issued by the village head (i-tongjang) of the farmland location and at least two other farmers from the village (total of three or more) when applying in person.

A city official said, “If applications are made with false information such as violations of actual cultivation or submission of false documents, registration restrictions of three years or more may be imposed, so please apply in accordance with the compliance requirements.”
