LG Electronics Strengthens US HVAC Market Strategy with High-Efficiency Heat Pumps
Participation in North America's Largest HVAC Exhibition 'AHR Expo 2024'
LG Electronics is strengthening its North American market strategy by leading with high-efficiency air conditioning products aligned with carbon neutrality efforts.
LG Electronics announced on the 21st that it will showcase a wide range of high-efficiency air conditioning solutions at 'AHR Expo 2024,' the largest air conditioning exhibition in North America, held from the 22nd to 24th (local time) in Chicago, USA.
LG Electronics has prepared an exhibition booth covering a total area of 575㎡, presenting total solutions from components to finished products, including residential electrification solutions, commercial air conditioning solutions, and component solutions, in line with global electrification and eco-friendly trends. In particular, it will introduce the R1 compressor, independently developed to provide stable heating even in cold regions, highlighting its core component technology called 'CoreTech.'
At the exhibition, various residential products will be showcased, such as a one-way ceiling-type indoor unit designed to suit North American wooden house structures, air handler heat pumps that can be installed horizontally or vertically according to residential spaces, and inverter heat pump water heaters certified by ENERGY STAR.
Customers can remotely monitor and control air conditioning solutions, including residential heating and cooling devices, as well as energy storage systems, through the LG ThinQ app.
For commercial use, LG Electronics will exhibit the 'Multi V i' system air conditioner, which applies its independently developed high-efficiency inverter compressor for high energy efficiency, and the 'Inverter Scroll Heat Pump Chiller,' a large air conditioning system that supplies heating, cooling, and chilled/hot water.
According to LG Electronics, heat pump-based products are gaining more attention as the U.S. government plans to offer benefits such as tax credits or subsidies for purchasing heating and cooling devices and home appliances equipped with heat pump technology as early as the second quarter of this year under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).
Meanwhile, LG Electronics recently established the 'LG Alaska Heat Pump Research Center' in Alaska, USA, to research and develop heating and cooling air conditioning products that deliver high performance even in extreme cold.
