Chung-Ang University announced on the 20th that it successfully concluded the 'International Conference on Immersive Media and Content 2024,' co-hosted by the Immersive Media Innovation Convergence College Project Group and the Virtual Convergence College.

The conference was held at the RYSE Autograph Collection Hotel in Mapo-gu, Seoul, under the theme "The Future of Immersive Media and Content Convergence." It opened with keynote speeches by Professor Greg Chang of UCLA and Project Group Leader Wi Jeong-hyun of the Immersive Media Innovation Convergence College.

First, Leader Wi pointed out that the current immersive media industry is experiencing a 'Chasm' phenomenon. Chasm refers to the 'demand stagnation phenomenon' that occurs during the transition from an early market dominated by a small number of consumers to a mainstream market widely used by the general public. Leader Wi proposed strategies to overcome this stagnation period through intermediate technology, price competitiveness, killer content, and differentiation strategies.
