Realizing Citizen-Centered 'Energy Welfare'... Pohang City Eliminates Blind Spots
LPG Pipeline Network Construction Project Progressing in Gigaemyeon, Donghaemyeon Geumgwang 2-ri, and Cheonghaemyeon Wolpo 3-ri
Mayor Lee Gang-deok: "Expanding Related Policies to Ensure All Citizens Benefit from Energy Welfare"
Pohang City is carrying out an energy welfare project to expand the supply of city gas in areas where city gas is not available, and to establish LPG pipeline networks equivalent to city gas in rural fishing villages where construction is difficult.
The completion ceremony of the 'Energy Welfare LPG Pipeline Network Construction Project' held at the Galpyeong-ri Village Hall in Ocheon-eup in 2022.

Accordingly, starting from the 25th, Pohang City will hold a project briefing session on the eup-myeon level LPG pipeline network construction for village chiefs and residents of Hyeonnae 1-2-ri, Goji 1-2-ri, Bonggye 2-ri, and Jiga 2-ri villages in Gigae-myeon.
The LPG pipeline network construction project is essential for outer eup-myeon areas where city gas is not supplied and energy costs such as heating expenses are soaring, as it is more than 50% cheaper than existing LPG cylinders and 15-20% cheaper than kerosene.
In addition, the city plans to invest 1.8 billion KRW to carry out a supply project for two villages, Geumgwang 2-ri in Donghae-myeon and Wolpo 3-ri in Cheongha-myeon, and to invest 2.3 billion KRW to install city gas supply pipes in city gas non-supply areas such as Jungmyeong-ri in Yeonil-eup and Gokgang-ri and Jukcheon-ri in Heunghae-eup.
The support project for city gas non-supply areas will be carried out sequentially through business agreements with city gas companies, detailed section surveys, private land consent, detailed design, permits, and selection of construction companies.
Last year, the city opened the Pohang LPG Pipeline Network Information Center and is conducting daily patrol inspections and management operations for 36 villages where the small storage tank supply project has been completed.
