Kenkoa Aero Raises 130 Billion KRW from IMM Investment
Kenkoreaerospace, a global company in the aerospace and defense industry, has successfully secured new investment and is ready to accelerate its global business expansion.
On the 19th, Kenkoreaerospace announced that it had attracted an investment of approximately 130 billion KRW from a special purpose company (SPC) established by IMM Investment, a leading domestic private equity fund manager.
Kenkoreaerospace has established itself as a global Tier 1 supplier in the aerospace, defense, and space industries, working with companies such as Airbus, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Boeing. Through this funding, it has laid the foundation to further strengthen its position in the global aerospace market and accelerate growth.
In particular, CEO Min-gyu Lee contributed his entire stake in Kenkoreaerospace in kind to the SPC, thereby establishing a joint investment and joint management system with IMM Investment.
Despite the severe impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the global aerospace industry, Kenkoreaerospace has continuously expanded its business areas, recording a double-digit growth rate.
Meanwhile, although demand for aviation has recently shown a rapid recovery, the global supply chain is still slow to recover. In this market environment, parts suppliers that have survived are now in a position to pursue more aggressive growth. Kenkoreaerospace is regarded as having gained an opportunity to implement a more proactive growth strategy through this investment.
An IMM Investment official stated, “Kenkoreaerospace is a globally recognized aerospace company and has previously worked closely with the management through past investments. Especially during the COVID period, the management’s excellent crisis management and business expansion capabilities were verified. We are pleased to support Kenkoreaerospace through this investment at a time when it is striving to become a true global Tier 1 aerospace supplier.”
