Enhancing Objectivity and Transparency through Joint Inspections with Honorary Livestock Hygiene Monitors
Geumcheon-gu (District Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) will conduct a special hygiene inspection of livestock product handling businesses from January 22 to February 2 ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
This inspection is carried out to ensure that residents can purchase livestock products with confidence during the holiday and to enhance transparency in distribution.
To improve the objectivity and transparency of the inspection, a team of four inspectors, including public officials and honorary livestock product hygiene monitors, will be organized to conduct the inspection.
The main inspection items include ▲ compliance with the livestock product traceability system ▲ sale of domestic Hanwoo disguised as other products ▲ storage and sale of products past their expiration date ▲ compliance with business operator obligations, etc.
The inspection targets 774 livestock product handling businesses in the area, with a focus on meat retail stores.
For businesses found in violation, minor or unintentional violations will be corrected immediately on site. In cases of serious violations, administrative measures will be taken according to the Livestock Product Hygiene Control Act to prevent the distribution of fraudulent or substandard livestock products in advance.
