'Terminator' Caught at Airport Customs... Due to This Expensive 'Metal'
Confirmed: Not Wearing Luxury Watch
Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger (76), famous for his leading role in the 'Terminator' series, was detained and then released by German customs authorities due to a 'luxury watch.'
On the 17th (local time), German media such as Bild reported that customs officials at Munich Airport discovered that Schwarzenegger, who arrived from the United States, had not declared an expensive luxury watch. After investigating the details, he was released after three hours.
Thomas Meister, a spokesperson for the airport customs, explained that criminal proceedings were initiated because Schwarzenegger was required to pay taxes as he planned to sell the watch within the European Union (EU).
The watch in question was specially made by the Swiss watch manufacturer Audemars Piguet for Schwarzenegger. Bild reported that it was scheduled to be auctioned at a climate fund-raising dinner held on the 18th in Kitzb?hel, Austria.
