An American passenger caused a disturbance on a Japanese aircraft by biting a flight attendant, leading to the flight turning back mid-route. Local police arrested the passenger on the spot.
On the 17th, Japanese media such as FNN Prime reported that ANA Flight 118, which took off from Haneda Airport at 9:05 PM the previous day heading to Seattle, USA, returned to Haneda Airport about two hours after takeoff.
The cause was identified as the unruly behavior of a 55-year-old male American passenger, Mr. A. During the disturbance, Mr. A bit the arm of a female flight attendant who tried to restrain him, causing injury. Ultimately, upon arrival at Haneda Airport, Mr. A was handed over to Tokyo Metropolitan Police officers and arrested on the spot on charges of injury.

However, Mr. A is reported to be denying the charges. In police questioning, he stated, "I took sleeping pills and do not remember." A Japanese investigative official said, "It appears that Mr. A took sleeping pills on board."
