Gobyungil, President of Gwangju Bank, Explores New Business Opportunities Through CES Attendance
Ko Byung-il, President of Gwangju Bank, explored tech trends at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in the United States, embarking on efforts to discover future new businesses.
President Ko participated in the world’s largest ICT convergence exhibition, the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2024), held from the 9th to the 12th in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
This trip was made to strengthen digital competitiveness and secure future growth engines through overseas business expansion.
At the event, President Ko directly and indirectly experienced the increasingly advanced digital transformation each year, as well as sophisticated AI (artificial intelligence) technologies closely integrated into all businesses, taking time to envision the direction of the new financial industry.
In particular, he confirmed the expanded areas of innovation and convergence where AI technology is applied beyond smart homes to healthcare, finance, mobility, construction, and agricultural machinery equipment.
He continued to contemplate the AI financial ecosystem while experiencing the advanced technologies of participating companies aiming to create an AI ecosystem through the connection of various devices, not just one.
President Ko said, “Even though the banking industry is conservative, the changes in the industry itself are progressing rapidly, so banks must respond sensitively to change and innovation, and survival strategies through collaboration with various industries and sectors are also important.”
