Ahn Cheol-soo: "The Symbol Color and Core Concepts of Lee Jun-seok's Reform New Party Are All Things I Did"
Curious About Choosing Orange Like the People's Party
Gloomy Prospects for a Third-Party Big Tent
On the 17th, Ahn Cheol-soo, a member of the People Power Party, stated regarding the symbolic color of the 'Reform New Party' promoted by former leader Lee Jun-seok, "The party's color, future, reform, and other core concepts are all things I have done."
On the same day, Ahn appeared on BBS Radio and, when asked if the symbolic color of the 'Reform New Party' was the same as that of the former People's Party, he said, "I have no intention of claiming copyright and hope they do well."
He added, "For reference, the reason why we (the People's Party) chose the orange color was to symbolize the rising sun," and "Another meaning is that it was chosen because we are a centrist and pragmatic party." Ahn also said, "I was a bit curious why the (Reform) New Party chose the same color."

Ahn expressed agreement with the nomination screening plan disclosed by the party's nomination management committee, saying, "Only by doing this can the government succeed in this general election."
Regarding the possibility of a third-zone big tent involving former leaders Lee Nak-yeon and Lee Jun-seok, he said, "Since they are former leaders of the ruling party, they are ideologically and characteristically polar opposites," and added, "I am somewhat pessimistic about whether a chemical union can actually be formed."

Concerning Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, and his potential candidacy in Gyeyang-eul, Ahn said, "I suggested a direct confrontation where I am, but the very next day after I declared my candidacy, he fled to Gyeyang-eul," and added, "But since another person (former Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong) is coming, I wonder if he will run away again as a proportional representative. Honestly, I believe that if a politician shows cowardly behavior, their political life is over."
