Immediately after the incident, Lee was transferred to Seoul National University Hospital for surgery. He was discharged on the 10th, eight days after hospitalization, and continued treatment at home.
However, during his recovery period, Lee also made decisions regarding party affairs, such as ordering a fact-finding investigation by the party's ethics inspection team into sexual harassment allegations against Hyun Geun-taek, deputy director of the Democratic Research Institute, on the 9th.
When asked whether Lee agreed with claims of a cover-up in the investigation, spokesperson Park responded, "Looking at the series of police investigations, isn't it full of doubts?" He added, "Anyone with common sense can see how much the police investigation was concealed and distorted," and "It is natural for the victim, Leader Lee Jae-myung, to have doubts."

Meanwhile, during Lee Jae-myung's hospitalization, former leader Lee Nak-yeon and members of the reform faction such as Lee Won-wook, Kim Jong-min, and Cho Eung-cheon from the group 'Principles and Common Sense' have successively left the party. Attention is focused on whether Lee will deliver related messages upon his official return to party affairs. It is reported that Lee plans to focus on resolving pressing issues ahead of the general election, including the problem of party defections, nomination controversies, and electoral system reform.
