Next President Election of the Korea Association of Certified Appraisers: 7-Way Contest Including Incumbent President Yang Gilsu
Yoo Yoonsang, Song Gyeju, and Other Appraisal Corporation Representatives Also Declare Candidacy
Election on the 31st, 1st and 2nd Electronic Voting Methods
Seven candidates have thrown their hats into the ring for the upcoming election of the next president of the Korea Association of Property Appraisers, scheduled for the 31st, promising fierce competition.
According to the Association of Property Appraisers on the 16th, the association completed the registration of candidates for the 18th president at the end of last month. Including the current president Yang Gilsu, candidates Park Bongwook, Ye Byeongmok, Hwang Seonggyu, Yoo Yunsang, Song Gyeju, and Jo Eungyeong have declared their candidacies. The election will be held on the 31st through a two-round electronic voting system.
The Korea Association of Property Appraisers is a statutory organization under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, with about 5,000 member corporations and offices nationwide. It is responsible for protecting the rights and welfare of its members, enhancing professionalism, developing appraisal work, and improving appraisal systems.
Yang, who has served as president of the association since 2021, is credited with achievements such as cooperation with related public institutions like the Korea Real Estate Board during his term. He served as CEO of Hana Property Appraisal Corporation from 2017 to 2021.
In addition, many well-known representatives of appraisal corporations in the industry have entered the race. Candidate Song is a former senior vice president of the Association of Property Appraisers and has served as CEO of Jeil Property Appraisal Corporation and auditor of the Korea Appraisal Society. Candidate Yoo, CEO of Miraesaehan Property Appraisal Corporation, has held positions such as head of the Gyeonggi Northern Branch of the Association, real estate director, and chair of the Appraisal Standards Committee. Candidate Ye, CEO of Daehan Property Appraisal Corporation, has served as vice president of the Association, member of the Association’s mutual aid and review committees, central land expropriation committee member at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, expert review evaluator for Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL), and deputy chair of the labor union at the Korea Real Estate Board.

Candidate Jo, former integration and public relations director of the association (CEO of Leaders Property Appraisal Office), is running again following his 2021 candidacy. He has also served as president of the Property Appraisal Office Council. Park Bongwook, an appraiser affiliated with Miraesaehan Property Appraisal Corporation, has also entered the race. He has served as planning director of the Association of Property Appraisers and advisory member of the NGO Policy Advisory Group at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (formerly Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs). Candidate Hwang is CEO of the comprehensive real estate service company Realty Bank and chairman of the Smart City Blockchain Forum.
