Gokseong Gugak Training Center 'Gugak Class' Student Recruitment
From the 15th to the 25th, first-come, first-served, open to all local residents
Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, is recruiting 130 students on a first-come, first-served basis to participate in the "2024 First Half Traditional Korean Music Class" for local residents from January 15 to 25.
The "First Half Traditional Korean Music Class" is a 26-week course running from February 1 to July 27, offering 11 classes in 8 fields including Janggu, Nongak, Pansori, and Korean dance. Starting this year, a Haegum class has been newly added.
Local residents who wish to participate can apply by visiting the Gokseong Traditional Korean Music Transmission Center in person or by phone. The classes are free of charge, and if the number of applicants does not meet the minimum requirement, the respective program will be canceled.
An official from the Gokseong Traditional Korean Music Transmission Center said, "We hope this will be an opportunity for local residents to bring vitality to their daily lives through traditional Korean music, and we have prepared various traditional Korean music education programs, so we ask for your interest and participation."
In addition to the traditional Korean music class program, the Gokseong Traditional Korean Music Transmission Center plans to hold a "Children's Traditional Korean Music Playground" program for elementary school students and special lectures and performance programs themed around Gokseong's traditional Korean music masters in July.
