Goheung-gun Accepts Applications for Newlywed Couple Marriage Congratulations Fund

Support Up to 4 Million KRW for Couples Under 49 Years Old

Gohung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced on the 11th that it will provide a marriage congratulatory fund of up to 4 million KRW to alleviate the initial economic burden of young couples and encourage marriage.

Eligible applicants are couples under the age of 49 who registered their marriage after July 4, 2022, and the support is provided once in a lifetime. Both spouses must have continuously resided in the province for more than six months as of the marriage registration date, and both must continue to reside in the province until the payment date after application, with at least one spouse residing in Gohung-gun.

The application period is from six months after the marriage registration date until the 18th month, and if the above conditions are met, a marriage congratulatory fund of 2 million KRW will be paid.

Additionally, if both spouses continue to reside in Gohung-gun from the date of the first marriage congratulatory fund application, an additional 'Gohung-gun Marriage Encouragement Fund' of 1 million KRW per year will be paid twice.

However, even if the first marriage congratulatory fund is not applied for within the period, the second and third marriage encouragement funds can be supported if the eligibility requirements (marital status, residence maintenance, etc.) are met.

Either spouse can apply, and applicants should bring required documents such as a resident registration abstract, marriage certificate, and a copy of their bankbook to the local town or township office of their address.

An official from the county stated, "We will continue to actively discover and support youth policies to create a young Gohung where young people want to stay."
