6.0 Magnitude Earthquake Near Noto Peninsula, Japan... No Tsunami or Nuclear Plant Concerns
The Japan Meteorological Agency reported that a magnitude 6.0 earthquake occurred at 5:59 PM on the 9th in the northeastern sea area of the Noto Peninsula, Ishikawa Prefecture, central Honshu, Japan. They stated that there is no concern for a tsunami.
The Noto Peninsula was the site of a strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7.6 on the 1st.
The focal depth was 10 km, and the earthquake was observed with a seismic intensity of lower 5 (most people feel fear and want to hold onto something) in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture. Some areas of the Noto Peninsula recorded a seismic intensity of 4 (most people are startled).
