Suspicion Over Lee Sang-jik's Appointment as 'Jungjinkong Chairman'... Prosecution Raids Presidential Archives
On the 9th, the prosecution investigating the appointment process of former lawmaker Lee Sang-jik as the chairman of the Small and Medium Business Corporation during the Moon Jae-in administration conducted a search and seizure at the Presidential Archives.
The Criminal Division 3 of Jeonju District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Lee Seung-hak) sent investigators to the Presidential Archives in Sejong City this morning to secure related materials.
The prosecution suspects that Seo, the son-in-law of former President Moon Jae-in, was given preferential hiring as the executive director of Tai Star Jet, which is actually owned by former lawmaker Lee, in exchange for Lee's appointment as chairman of the Small and Medium Business Corporation.
Earlier, Seo was controversially hired as the executive director of Tai Star Jet in July 2018 despite having no experience in the aviation sector.
