Jindo-gun Holds 2024 Public Project Response Promotion Plan Report Meeting
Plan to Apply for 54 Public Projects with a Budget of 176.1 Billion KRW
Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do held a response plan briefing session on the 2024 public contest projects on the 8th, attended by about 30 senior officials.
According to the county on the 8th, the response plan briefing session was prepared to ensure the smooth promotion of public contest projects selected in 2023 and to proactively respond to the 2024 public contest projects, seeking to expand the poor local finances and regional development through securing national and provincial funds.
The public contest projects reported on this day totaled 54 cases with a project cost of 176.1 billion KRW.

Representative public contest projects include △ Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries 2024 Fishing Village New Vitality Promotion Project (70 billion KRW) △ Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Regional Specialized Rental Smart Farm Project (20 billion KRW) △ Jeollanam-do Jeonnam-type Civil Complaint Housing Construction Project (15 billion KRW) △ Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries General Agricultural and Fishing Village Development Project (10 billion KRW) △ Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Smart Tourism City Creation Project (9 billion KRW) △ Construction of Dormitories for Nursing and Welfare Personnel in Farming and Fishing Villages (4 billion KRW), and the county plans to apply for a total of 54 public contest projects.
Meanwhile, as a result of Jindo-gun's full efforts to secure public contest projects last year, it achieved the 'largest ever' national and provincial fund budget of 135.8 billion KRW for a total of 70 cases, including △ Jeonnam-type Balanced Development 300 Project (30 billion KRW) △ Republic of Korea Cultural City (20 billion KRW) △ Humanistic Healing Tourism Route Landmark Project (15.8 billion KRW) △ Sebang Sunset Art and Culture Tourism Landmark Creation (14.5 billion KRW) △ Eco-friendly Aquaculture Promotion Project (10 billion KRW).
This performance is 3.1 times the five-year average of 44.1 billion KRW.
County Governor Kim Hee-su said, “We will visit Jeollanam-do and central government departments to inform them of the necessity and validity of the essential public contest projects so that they can definitely be selected for the benefits that Jindo residents can enjoy,” and added, “We will do our best to ensure that there are no setbacks in project promotion through thorough execution plans for the selected projects.”
