Hyundai Construction Maintains No.1 Position in Urban Renewal Projects for 5 Consecutive Years
Last Year's Order Amount: 4.6122 Trillion KRW
Hyundai Construction demonstrated strong momentum in last year's urban renewal project orders, securing the top spot in orders. With this, Hyundai Construction has maintained its position as the number one construction company in this field for five consecutive years since 2019.
According to the construction industry on the 8th, Hyundai Construction's order amount in the urban renewal project sector last year was recorded at 4.6122 trillion KRW. The projects successfully ordered include 2 reconstruction projects (Gumi Hyeonggok 4 Jugong · Eungbong 1), 5 redevelopment projects (Busan Goejeong 7 District · Ulsan Jung-gu B-04 · Cheongju Samo 2 District · Gunpo Sanbon 1-dong 1 District · Busan Choryang 2 District), 3 remodeling projects (Ilsan Gangseon Village 14 Complex · Pyeongchon Hangaram Sekyung · Pyeongchon Gojak Booyoung), and 1 public housing complex project (Incheon Jemulpo Station), totaling 11 projects.
In particular, Hyundai Construction showed strong momentum by recording orders worth 1.5905 trillion KRW in four locations, including the 'Pyeongchon Gojak Booyoung Remodeling Project,' last month alone.
Last year, Hyundai Construction implemented a selective order strategy in response to the unstable construction market caused by high interest rates and rising raw material prices. Additionally, through organizational restructuring, the company separated the order management department and the project promotion department to strengthen order expertise. Through this, they built a balanced portfolio of urban renewal projects by sector, such as redevelopment, reconstruction, and remodeling, increasing their orders.
Meanwhile, the second highest order amount in urban renewal projects last year was POSCO E&C, with orders totaling 4.5988 trillion KRW, just 13.4 billion KRW behind Hyundai Construction. The rankings followed with DL E&C (2.3274 trillion KRW), Samsung C&T Construction Division (2.0961 trillion KRW), Daewoo Construction (1.6858 trillion KRW), GS Construction (1.5878 trillion KRW), Hyundai Engineering (1.2778 trillion KRW), and SK Eco Plant (1.1580 trillion KRW).
