'Shared City' Gwanak-gu Wins Award for Public Resource Opening and Shared Service Evaluation
Achieved Excellent Grade in Comprehensive Category in 'Public Resource Opening and Sharing Service Local Government Performance Evaluation' for 243 Municipalities Nationwide... 'Gwanak Youth Center' Operation Selected as an Innovative Best Practice and Awarded the Minister's Prize
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) achieved an excellent grade in the comprehensive category in the 2023 Public Resource Opening and Sharing Service Local Government Performance Evaluation and was honored with a Ministerial Award in the Best Practice category.
The Public Resource Opening and Sharing Service Local Government Performance Evaluation, hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, was conducted nationwide to identify local governments with outstanding public resource operation performance and activation efforts, aiming to provide better opening and sharing services to the public.
Based on the comprehensive evaluation scores, 243 local governments nationwide were classified into four grades: highest, excellent, average, and insufficient. A total of 20 institutions (▲14 top performers in the comprehensive category ▲6 in best practice promotion) received awards and financial incentives. Notably, among these 20 institutions, Gwanak-gu is the only autonomous district in Seoul.
In this evaluation, the district was recognized for its efforts to spread and promote a sharing culture, achieving an excellent grade in the comprehensive category. The district received an overall excellent evaluation in quantitative indicators (▲establishment of service management system ▲service promotion efforts) and qualitative indicators (▲service quality improvement ▲innovative best practices).
The district has been promoting more than 20 sharing projects, including ‘Parking Lot Sharing’ to alleviate parking difficulties in residential areas, ‘Community Childcare Sharing Centers’ to create a local-centered childcare environment, and lending of daily life tools.
Among them, the district’s flagship project, ‘Gwanak Youth Center,’ was selected as an innovative best practice, receiving a Ministerial Award and securing a financial incentive of 30 million KRW.
‘Gwanak Youth Center’ is a new project considering the region’s characteristic of having the highest youth ratio nationwide, recognized for providing comprehensive sharing services such as information, talents, and spaces targeted at the youth demographic.

Mayor Park Jun-hee stated, “We plan to actively open public resources so that residents can use sharing services more easily and conveniently,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to create ‘Sharing City Gwanak,’ where we share together, use together, and grow together.”
