Korea Rail Network Authority Quickly Restores Flood-Damaged Section of Yeongdong Line... Train Service Resumes
The Gangwon Headquarters of the Korea Rail Network Authority announced on the 5th that it has completed the on-site restoration of the Yeongdong Line section between Yeongju and Dongbaeksan, which was damaged by floodwaters last summer, ahead of schedule and will resume train operations from this month.

At that time, it was expected that flood restoration would take about 12 months.
However, by implementing the 'Fast Track' method, which carries out design and construction simultaneously, and with on-site personnel dedicating themselves to restoration work during weekends and nights without hesitation, the restoration period was shortened by about 7 months, according to the Gangwon Headquarters of the Korea Rail Network Authority.
Due to the early restoration, train operations on the previously halted Yeongdong Line section will resume from the 8th of this month.
