"Set Up a Booth the Size of One Soccer Field"…Hyundai Motor Group to Participate in CES with the Largest Scale Ever
Hyundai Motor Group will participate in CES 2024, the world's largest electronics and IT exhibition, with its largest-ever scale. Combining all its affiliates, the group will set up a large booth the size of a soccer field and showcase the future mobility world envisioned by Hyundai Motor Group.
On the 7th, Hyundai Motor Group announced that it will participate in CES 2024, held from the 9th to the 12th in Las Vegas, USA, with the largest exhibition space ever. The combined exhibition space of five affiliates?Hyundai Motor, Kia, Hyundai Mobis, Supernal, and ZER01NE?totals 6,437㎡. This is comparable to the size of one international standard soccer field (6,400?8,250㎡) as defined by FIFA.
This marks Hyundai Motor Group's largest exhibition since it first participated in CES in 2009. This year, Hyundai Motor will participate after two years, and Kia after five years. It is the first time in five years that Hyundai Motor and Kia will simultaneously unveil new technologies at CES.
Hyundai Motor Group will dispatch nearly 1,000 employees, including those from its research institutes, as part of the CES delegation. This is to share the group's vision announced at CES internally and to allow them to directly observe and experience AI and mobility innovation technologies from leading global companies.
Hyundai Motor Declares "Great Transition to Hydrogen and Software"
On the 8th (local time), Hyundai Motor will present a human-centered future mobility blueprint under the theme "Great Transition to Hydrogen and Software: Ease every way" at its media day event. Regarding hydrogen energy, it will propose a "comprehensive hydrogen solution" to accelerate the transition to a hydrogen society. At the same time, it will introduce the group's hydrogen demonstration technologies and ongoing projects.
Regarding the great transition to software, Hyundai Motor will introduce a future mobility ecosystem built on software. It will present future strategies to build an optimized user-centered ecosystem by connecting people, mobility, data, and cities based on AI. In particular, Hyundai Motor Group's global software center, FortyTwoDot, will showcase the direction of the SDV (Software Defined Vehicle) it is developing in-house, along with demonstration software and AI-related technologies.
Additionally, Hyundai Motor will exhibit robots that showcase the group's robotics technology. It will unveil Boston Dynamics' logistics loading and unloading robot "Stretch" and demonstrate logistics mobility.
Kia Returns to CES After 5 Years, Unveils Lineup of 3 PBVs
Kia, participating in CES for the first time in five years since 2019, will present its PBV (Purpose Built Vehicle) vision under the theme "Prepared Kia Shows Mobility for All." Kia will discuss customer-centric total mobility solutions based on PBVs.
At this event, Kia will unveil a lineup of three PBV concepts linked to Hyundai Motor Group's SDV strategy. Specifically, it will showcase a total of five PBVs, including three mid-sized PBV concepts, one large PBV concept, and one small PBV concept.
Technological Strengths of Hyundai Mobis, Supernal, and ZER01NE Also in the Spotlight
In addition, Hyundai Mobis will showcase 20 mobility new technologies applicable to mass production. These include an innovative display series packed with high value-added advanced technologies and future mobility core technologies such as a high-power ICCU (Integrated Charging Control Unit) that increases the charging speed of electric vehicles.
Supernal, Hyundai Motor Group's UAM (Urban Air Mobility) subsidiary in the U.S., will announce its direction for building the future AAM (Advanced Air Mobility) ecosystem. It will reveal a new design of the UAM aircraft under development aimed for commercialization in 2028 and exhibit a full-scale model.
