According to the city, on the 2nd, a public late-night children's hospital opening ceremony was held with the attendance of Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong, City Council Chairman Kim Young-gyu, and officials from Yeosu Central Hospital.
Previously, with active support from the city council, Yeosu City enacted the "Yeosu City Public Late-Night Children's Hospital Support Ordinance," through which it signed an agreement with Yeosu Central Hospital last October to establish the public late-night children's hospital, achieving results after six years.
At the opening ceremony, Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong of Yeosu stated, "Pediatric patients can now receive medical care during nights, weekends, and public holidays without having to go to other regions, enabling parents and children to feel reassured with the medical services provided."
He continued, "I would also like to express my deep gratitude to Director Park Ki-ju of Yeosu Central Hospital for making a great decision despite difficult circumstances, and to Chairman Kim Young-gyu of the City Council, Chairwoman Min Deok-hee of the Environment and Welfare Committee, and other city council members who shared the vision to secure local medical infrastructure."
