Daegu Kim Kwang-seok 28th Anniversary Memorial Concert ... Featuring Jang Pil-soon, Oh Kwang-yeol, Oh Jin-sung, Choi Seung-yeol
Jung-gu, Daegu City (Mayor Ryu Gyu-ha) will hold a memorial event on the 28th anniversary of Kim Kwang-seok's death on the 6th at 2 p.m. around the Kim Kwang-seok Dasi Geurigi-gil Outdoor Concert Hall.
The Kim Kwang-seok memorial event, held annually on January 6th, is deeply meaningful as it is supported and created in unison by the Daegu Jung-gu Office and all councils and organizations of Kim Kwang-seok Dasi Geurigi-gil to both commemorate the late Kim Kwang-seok and promote tourism on Kim Kwang-seok-gil.
The memorial event will proceed with a memorial ceremony in front of the Kim Kwang-seok silhouette statue on Kim Kwang-seok-gil at 2 p.m., followed by a memorial performance at the Kim Kwang-seok Outdoor Concert Hall.
The memorial performance, starting at 2:40 p.m., will feature a rich stage with famous buskers specializing in Kim Kwang-seok's performances such as ‘Oh Gwang-yeol’, ‘Oh Jin-sung’, the main vocalist of the group IZI, ‘Choi Seung-yeol’, the runner-up of JTBC’s ‘Hidden Singer’ Kim Kwang-seok edition, and ‘Jang Pil-soon’, a diva of domestic female folk rock and singer-songwriter, performing Kim Kwang-seok’s masterpieces.
In particular, Jang Pil-soon, who had a special friendship with Kim Kwang-seok during his lifetime, is expected to enhance the significance of this memorial by performing songs such as ‘Around Thirty’ and ‘My Love I Couldn’t Tell’.
Mayor Ryu Gyu-ha of Jung-gu said, “I hope this 28th anniversary memorial will be a precious occasion where Kim Kwang-seok’s fans and tourists nationwide come together to beautifully remember him.”
