Kim Heeyeon Inaugurated as the 24th President of the Korean Society of Sensor Science
Dr. Heeyeon Kim of the Nano Convergence Technology Institute was inaugurated as the new president of the Korea Sensor Society (KSS) on January 1, 2024.
President Kim earned his master's and doctoral degrees from KAIST and has worked at the Agency for Defense Development and Samsung Electro-Mechanics. He is currently serving as the head of the K-Sensor Commercialization Support Center at the Nano Convergence Technology Institute. He received a commendation from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy in 2022 for his contributions to the commercialization of infrared sensors. Over the past 20 years, he has contributed to the development of the domestic sensor industry by serving as the chair of the Industry-Academia Committee and the organizing committee of the Korea Sensor Society.
He expressed his ambition to widely promote the importance of sensors as a national strategic technology and to strengthen global cooperation programs with domestic and international organizations related to sensor applications.

Founded in 1991 to advance sensor-related academia and technology, the Korea Sensor Society is the only professional sensor society in Korea, with over 1,200 sensor technology experts from industry, academia, and research institutes participating as members across seven branches nationwide.
