Strengthening Hazardous Imported Goods Inspection... Incheon Airport Customs Operates Scientific Inspection Center
Concentrated Deployment of Large X-rays, Ion Scanners, Raman Spectrometers
Precise Inspection Regardless of Weight or Volume
The Korea Customs Service at Incheon Airport Customs will concentrate various devices, including large X-ray machines, in the customs inspection area to filter out dangerous imported goods brought in by air.
The Korea Customs Service announced on the 3rd that it will operate such a scientific inspection center within the Incheon Airport customs inspection area starting this month. The scientific inspection center has newly introduced a large X-ray scanner capable of inspecting cargo up to 3 meters wide, 3.2 meters high, and 5 meters long. This allows for more precise inspection without limitations on the weight and volume of the cargo.
In addition, scientific inspection equipment such as ion scanners, Raman spectrometers, and endoscopic cameras have been intensively deployed. Inspection capabilities will also be enhanced through simulated X-ray inspection training.
