Jinhae Fisheries Cooperative Holds First Auction Ceremony and Bountiful Catch Festival at Sokcheon Wholesale Market
On the morning of the 3rd at 5 a.m., Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam, attended the first fish auction ceremony and the bountiful catch festival held at the Jinhae Fisheries Cooperative Sokcheon Wholesale Market to welcome the new year of Gapjin. He stated, “We will actively strive to increase fishermen's income and ensure their safety.”

View original imageThe first fish auction ceremony is an event held before the first auction of the new year to pray for a bountiful catch and the safety of fishermen. About 150 people attended the event, including Mayor Hong Nampyo of Changwon Special City, National Assembly member Lee Dalgon, Director Ryu Jaehyung of Masan Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office, Chief Kim Youngho of Jinhae Police Station, provincial and city council members, and fishermen.
During the event, various activities took place, including the awarding of commendations and plaques of appreciation to fishermen who contributed to marine and fisheries policies and those who contributed to the development of the fisheries cooperative, the bountiful catch festival praying for a good catch and safety, a raffle, and an auction demonstration.
