The Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kang Seok-jin) announced on the morning of the 2nd that it held the '2024 Opening Ceremony and Appointment Letter Award Ceremony' at its headquarters in Jinju, Gyeongnam. The ceremony was organized to mark a new beginning for the new year of Gapjin and to encourage employees.
In his New Year's address, Chairman Kang Seok-jin of the Small and Medium Business Corporation said, "This year, the global low growth is expected to continue, making the management environment for small and medium ventures challenging," and urged, "Please fulfill your duties in your respective positions to overcome the crisis of small and medium ventures and restore dynamism."
Specifically, he announced nine key focus directions to restore the dynamism of small and medium ventures, including ▲discovering and supporting promising companies and risk management ▲advancing the global expansion support system ▲win-win cooperation and structural innovation between large and small businesses ▲leading ESG management ▲diversifying small and medium enterprise workforce training and startup support ▲revitalizing local small businesses ▲strengthening external cooperation ▲enhancing fairness when utilizing external experts ▲strengthening on-site responsible management. In particular, in the policy fund sector, he emphasized the need to intensively support growth-potential companies for innovation in small and medium ventures and actively restructure marginal companies.

Chairman Kang cited last year's examples such as supporting the transition to joint projects with private company SeAH Besteel and establishing cooperative systems with the Korea Technology Finance Corporation and the Ministry of Justice Correction Headquarters, stating that for supporting small and medium ventures, he will continue to "actively promote public-private collaboration where the private sector leads and the government supports."
