Incheon Office of Education to Increase School Facility Opening Support Fund by 50% Next Year
Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education has decided to increase the amount of support funds starting next year to promote the activation of school facility openings.
According to the Office of Education on the 28th, schools that open indoor sports facilities will receive an annual 7.5 million KRW, and schools that open playgrounds will receive an annual 3 million KRW as facility maintenance costs and public utility fees starting next year. This amount is a 50% increase compared to this year's support funds for school facility openings.
The Office of Education also plans to expand support for facility management personnel linked to senior citizen jobs from the current 6 schools to 12 schools.
The rate of school facility openings in Incheon rose by 3.9 percentage points from 68% in March to 71.9% in September. Additionally, according to a satisfaction survey, 84.2% of school officials responded positively to the support funds for school facility openings.

An official from the Office of Education stated, "Schools can reduce their burden and save educational budgets by receiving support for facility maintenance costs, public utility fees, and facility management personnel arising from school facility openings," and added, "We will continue to expand school facility openings through communication with the local community."
