Proposal to Discover Construction Collaboration Models Including Creation of Youth Pilot Villages
Jin Byeong-yeong, the governor of Hamyang County in Gyeongnam, discussed mutual cooperation measures to respond to rural extinction with Lee Byeong-ho, president of the Korea Rural Community Corporation, who visited Hamyang.
According to Hamyang County, on the 26th, Lee and about 10 officials from the Rural Community Corporation visited Hamyang to tour the purchase-rental housing and youth residence platform facilities in Seoha-myeon, a leading example of a rural utopia.

View original imageIn a cordial meeting held prior to the site visit, Governor Jin mentioned the long-term cooperative relationship between the two institutions as partners in agricultural policy, proposing and discussing various policy projects such as the revival of local creative idea projects to jointly respond to rural extinction, pilot youth village creation through the maintenance of declining villages, and measures to expand the living population, in addition to expanding the existing agricultural infrastructure.
During the site visit, they toured the Seoha-daum Youth Residence Platform, a youth regional living facility, and the Seoha purchase-rental housing, which was created in connection with saving small schools, listening to the opinions of local residents.

Meanwhile, Hamyang County and the Korea Rural Community Corporation are carrying out collaborative projects worth about 15 billion KRW annually across seven projects on average. In particular, next year, they plan to further expand collaborative projects such as the 5.7 billion KRW rural space maintenance project in the Geumho district and the 6 billion KRW basic living base creation project in Macheon-myeon.
