Jeollanam-do awarded commendations to cities and counties that achieved excellent results in job creation, economy, and investment attraction.
The job creation evaluation was conducted by aggregating scores from 19 items across six fields, including employment indicators, youth, middle-aged, and vulnerable group jobs, targeting 22 cities and counties within the province.
The city received high evaluations for its core industry’s ‘energy sector customized jobs,’ support for ‘rental housing’ without deposit to ensure stable housing conditions for employed youth, and operation of the ‘Comprehensive Job Support Center’ that provides one-stop services for job counseling, vocational training, and employment placement.
This year, 28 departments promoted 152 job-related projects, including youth jobs and youth startup support projects.
In particular, through providing one-stop job services, the city achieved job creation results with 926 job openings, 819 job seekers, 1,227 job placements, and 532 employments.
Additionally, programs such as one Job Festival, 25 mobile employment counseling sessions, six job matching days, and certification courses for workforce training (17 participants) were operated to provide customized jobs required by companies by developing job seekers’ aptitudes and capabilities.
Next year, eight projects for region-led youth jobs will be promoted. Companies that hire young job seekers will receive wage support for two years, and after converting to regular employment, a regional settlement fund of 10 million KRW will be provided.
To support stable settlement and sustainable growth of startups, 20 people who newly open (or relocate) stores in the old downtown area will receive initial cost support of 14 million KRW.
Mayor Yoon Byung-tae said, “We are moving toward a Naju where youth return by creating jobs in the energy sector, our core industry, and providing stable housing conditions,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to implement customized policies so that living in Naju means stable access to work, jobs, and cultural life.”
Meanwhile, on the same day, two companies in Naju, IoT Plus Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Young-chul) and Daon Place Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Joo-hyun), were selected as excellent job companies by Jeollanam-do and will receive financial incentives and tax benefits.
