Gangbuk-gu to Hold 2024 Gapjin Year Sunrise Event at Buk Seoul Dream Forest
January 1st at 7 AM at Bukseoul Dream Forest: Sunrise Viewing at 7:47 AM... Write New Year's Wishes, New Year's Greetings, Reading of New Year's Prayers... Open to All Gangbuk Residents
Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) will hold the 'Gangbuk Sunrise Event' at Buk Seoul Dream Forest on January 1, 2024, the year of Gapjin.
The sunrise event is organized to welcome the hopeful New Year by praying for the health and wishes of families on the first day of the year and to strengthen the new determination for the development of Gangbuk together with the residents. It will take place at Cheongundapwon in Buk Seoul Dream Forest.
Starting at 7 a.m., the event will proceed in the following order: ▲ Writing New Year's wishes ▲ Opening declaration and introduction of guests ▲ New Year's greetings and congratulatory remarks ▲ Reading of the New Year's prayer ▲ Sunrise countdown and viewing (sunrise expected at 7:47 a.m.) ▲ Sharing New Year's greetings among participants ▲ Commemorative photo session.
The sunrise event is open to all Gangbuk-gu residents, and detailed information can be found on the Gangbuk-gu website.

Mayor Lee Soon-hee of Gangbuk-gu said, “In 2023, we achieved leaps and changes in various fields through projects such as the reasonable relaxation of altitude restrictions in Bukhansan, winning the grand prize at the Villa Management Office Manifesto Best Practice Competition, and the Gangbuk Baekmaek Festival.” She added, “In 2024, the year of Gapjin, based on these changes, we will have confidence in the new Gangbuk-gu and do our best to create a ‘vibrant and livable Gangbuk-gu.’”
