Lee argued that the only evidence related to his drug use allegations is the testimony of A (29), a manager at an entertainment establishment, and that the credibility of each claim should be determined by a lie detector test. Lee's side also stated that while they have complied with public summonses exposed to the media so far, the lie detector test should be conducted privately. The police plan to review Lee's request and decide soon whether to proceed with the lie detector test.
Earlier, Lee underwent a third investigation lasting 19 hours from 10 a.m. on the 23rd to 5 a.m. the next day. During the investigation, he maintained the same position as in the second investigation, saying, "A gave it to me, saying it was something like prescribed sleeping pills," and "I did not know it was a drug." Lee is accused of smoking or using marijuana and ketamine multiple times at A's house in Seoul this year. A was previously arrested and indicted early last month on charges of psychotropic substances and marijuana under the Narcotics Control Act and is currently on trial at the Incheon District Court.
During the police investigation, A reportedly claimed that "Lee used drugs at least five times (at our house)." However, aside from A's testimony, all precise tests including urine and hair analysis have returned negative results, and no direct evidence proving Lee's drug use has been secured yet.
