‘Evaluation of Fruit Industry Promotion Policies’ and ‘Evaluation of Rural Vitality Sector’ Honored with Top Awards

Pohang City recently received the Grand Prize again this year in the ‘2023 Fruit Industry Promotion Policy Evaluation’ hosted by Gyeongbuk Province, earning the honor of winning the top award for two consecutive years.
Pohang City received the Grand Prize in the 2023 Rural Vitality Evaluation hosted by Gyeongbuk Province, and Mayor Lee Kang-deok and the staff of the Rural Vitality Division are taking a commemorative photo.

In this policy evaluation, Pohang City received high marks in various areas including securing budgets for the fruit sector, execution of national and provincial budgets, selection for public projects (Fruit Specialized Production Complex Establishment Project), efforts to discover city-led projects, and the interest of local government heads (such as Gyeongbuk Apple Promotion Events and Fruit Farmers’ Workshops), resulting in the Grand Prize.
Additionally, Pohang City celebrated a double honor by also receiving the Grand Prize in the ‘2023 Rural Vitality Sector Evaluation’ hosted by Gyeongbuk Province.
The Rural Vitality Sector Evaluation conducts a comprehensive review and assessment of major tasks in rural vitality, aiming to enhance work capabilities through sharing best practices and to encourage outstanding cities and counties.
In this evaluation, Pohang City stood out in rural area development projects, local transfer project implementation, and agricultural production infrastructure projects, earning the Grand Prize.
Mayor Lee Kang-deok stated, “Thanks to differentiated strategies, continuous interest, and steady efforts for agricultural development, we were able to achieve these excellent results. We will continue to improve rural living conditions and pursue policies that support agricultural development.”
