Ministry of Industry, "Industrial Complex Innovation System to be Implemented from Second Half of Next Year"
On the 26th, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy held a meeting of tenant companies in the Daegu Seongseo Industrial Complex, chaired by First Vice Minister Jang Young-jin, to share plans for the development of industrial complexes. The meeting was attended by representatives from six tenant companies including Daehong Costech, Byeokjin BIO Tech, Georim Tech, Deoksan Cotran, Seongrim Advanced Industry, and Ajin X-Tech, as well as Hong Seok-jun, member of the People Power Party (Chairman of the Regulatory Reform Promotion Group), and Lee Sang-hoon, President of the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation.
Vice Minister Jang explained the plan to eliminate killer regulations hindering industrial complex locations, which was prepared last August for tenant companies, and discussed ways to resolve difficulties faced by tenant companies. During the meeting, topics such as the expansion of structural advancement projects, requests for designation of special zones for specific industries within the industrial complex (negative zones), strengthening research and development (R&D) support for industrial complexes, and expanding support for tenant companies’ Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management were discussed.

Meanwhile, the amendment to the Industrial Cluster Act to implement the plan to eliminate killer regulations for industrial complex locations passed the National Assembly on the 8th and is scheduled to be fully enforced from the second half of next year. Accordingly, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy is working on institutional improvements such as revising enforcement ordinances. Vice Minister Jang stated, "We will prepare to ensure that the industrial complex innovation system can be implemented smoothly from the second half of next year," and urged, "We ask the private sector to actively expand investments."
