The Uisin Police Substation of Jindo Police Station visited the Georyong Village Senior Citizens' Center in their assigned village area and conducted education on telephone financial fraud and traffic accident prevention for the village chief and about 10 residents.
They explained various types of voice phishing methods recently occurring, such as impersonating family members, stealing personal information, loan fraud, and impersonating institutions, as well as how to respond to them.
Since most residents living in Uisin-myeon are elderly with mobility difficulties, they emphasized attaching reflective stickers to electric vehicles and wearing luminous vests when moving at night to reflect this situation.
Oh Byung-won, head of the Uisin Police Substation, said, "We will do our best to become a police force that pays more delicate attention to residents' inconveniences, including carrying out sincere community policing to protect socially vulnerable groups."
