Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) will hold the Christmas market event "The Santa I Drew" around the Gangbuk-gu Office from the 23rd to the 25th.
This event was organized by the district, local merchants, and artists to revitalize the local commercial area. It features a variety of programs including a flea market for small business products and handmade crafts, wine and food booths, and busking performances by local artists.
On the first day of the event, the opening lighting ceremony of "The Santa I Drew" was held at 7 p.m. Before the lighting ceremony, the Sorinamoo Children's Choir performed Christmas carols to lift the atmosphere of the venue.
The lighting ceremony proceeded in the order of ▲introduction of guests ▲commemorative and congratulatory speeches ▲lighting performance. Attendees included Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, Song Jong-cheol, President of the Gangbuk-gu Christian Association, pastors who are executives, Choi Chi-hyo, Chairperson of the Gangbuk-gu Council, National Assembly member Park Yong-jin, City Council member Lee Jong-hwan, and other Gangbuk-gu Council members.
The lighting performance, themed "Lighting the Flame of Hope," involved guests lighting candles on a cake, which simultaneously triggered the illumination of the Milky Way lights, Christmas tree lights, and other decorations.
Mayor Lee Soon-hee said at the lighting ceremony, "The name 'The Santa I Drew' was chosen for the Christmas market event with the hope that everyone will envision their wishes in their hearts and achieve what they desire, and that all residents will become green Santas sharing love with their families and neighbors." She added, "I hope everyone enjoys a happy and joyful Christmas by participating in the three-day event with their beloved family, lovers, and friends."
"The Santa I Drew" continues from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the 24th and 25th. During the event, a market selling various desserts, wine, and handmade crafts will be operated at the Gangbuk-gu Office plaza. There will also be participation stages with Green Santa, Green Santa giveaways, and Christmas busking performances.
