Georit Energy "ExtraLit Successfully Extracts Lithium from Ultra-Low Concentration Brine in Turkey"
Xtralit, an affiliate company with Georit Energy as the largest shareholder, is accelerating the development of a geothermal project with Zorlu Group, a major conglomerate in T?rkiye.
On the 22nd, Xtralit announced that it succeeded in extracting high-efficiency lithium from ultra-low concentration geothermal brine of 4ppm at a pilot plant installed in Denizli, southwestern T?rkiye. This plant was operated in collaboration with Zorlu Enerji, a subsidiary of T?rkiye's Zorlu Group.
Building on this achievement, Xtralit established the Direct Lithium Extraction Geothermal Center at the ?zmir Technology Research Institute, the only technology research institute in T?rkiye.
An Xtralit representative stated, "The establishment of this center is significant as it aligns Xtralit's technological capabilities in geothermal energy utilization with the Turkish government's needs for renewable energy development. The center will conduct cutting-edge research and development in geothermal-related fields."
Based on the pilot test results, Xtralit plans to operate a pre-commercial pilot plant targeting larger-scale geothermal brine. They also intend to disclose design information related to the production of battery-grade high-purity lithium carbonate.
