Hanul Headquarters Leads Customized Support Projects for Vulnerable Groups in Uljin County
Establishment of Free Blanket Laundry Service, Support for Equipment for Disabled Independence and Treatment
Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (Head: Lee Seyong) is taking the lead in customized support projects for vulnerable groups in Uljin-gun.
The Hanul Headquarters supported 200 million KRW to establish a ‘Free Laundry Service for Elderly Quilts’ to improve the living environment and provide care services for elderly people in vulnerable groups in Uljin-gun. This project is expected to have a twofold effect by creating jobs for 16 elderly people.
In addition, the Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters provided furniture for the establishment of a ‘Training Home for Disabled Independence’ where residents of Indeok Sarang Village, a welfare facility for disabled people in the area, can experience and train in an environment similar to independent living, and supported cognitive rehabilitation equipment for the Comprehensive Welfare Center for the Disabled.
For multicultural families, a ‘Visiting Learning Materials Support Project’ was implemented, and the old kitchen sink was completely replaced at Yeongsin Haemil Home, a welfare facility for single-parent families.
Jeong Eunkyung, director of Yeongsin Haemil Home, said, “As much as the kitchen brightened, smiles blossomed on the faces of the residents,” and added, “We are grateful to the Hanul Headquarters for giving the residents vitality and joy in life.”
