Foreign National Crosses Highway Median at Midnight, Seriously Injured After Being Hit by Car

A foreign man who stopped his car on the shoulder of the highway late at night and was crossing over the central divider was seriously injured after being hit by an oncoming car.
According to the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency Highway Patrol on the 21st, at around 10:14 PM on the 20th near the Seojinju Interchange (IC) on the Tongyeong~Daejeon Expressway heading towards Daejeon in Myeongseok-myeon, Jinju-si, Gyeongnam, Mr. A, a Libyan national, was hit by a car driven by a woman in her 30s, Ms. B.
Ms. B collided with Mr. A, who was crossing over the central divider to the opposite lane while driving in the first lane of the road.
The police have determined that Mr. A, who was traveling with two companions to Tongyeong, stopped his car on the shoulder due to a vehicle problem and was crossing the road to the opposite lane when the accident occurred.
The driver, Ms. B, reportedly stated that "a person suddenly jumped out while driving."
Mr. A was seriously injured in the accident and was urgently transported to the hospital, where his condition is reported to be critical.
