The General Insurance Association Appoints Lee Byung-rae as the 55th President
Byung-rae Lee has been officially appointed as the 55th President of the Korea Insurers Association.
On the 21st, the Korea Insurers Association announced that it held an extraordinary general meeting the previous day and appointed Byung-rae Lee, the candidate recommended by the Presidential Candidate Recommendation Committee, as the 55th president. His term will be three years, from the 23rd of this month until December 22, 2026.

Born in 1964, President Lee graduated from Daejeon High School and Seoul National University with a degree in International Economics. He entered public service by passing the 32nd Administrative Examination in 1988. Since then, he has worked at the Ministry of Finance’s International Finance Bureau, Securities Bureau, Vice Minister’s Office, and served as head of the Market Research Division, Non-bank Supervision Division, and Insurance Supervision Division at the Financial Supervisory Commission. From 2008, he held various positions at the Financial Services Commission, including Head of the Insurance Division, Head of the Personnel Administration Division, Head of the Financial Policy Division, and spokesperson. He later served as President of the Korea Securities Depository and Vice Chairman of External Cooperation at the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
