Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) will hold the 3rd Yangcheon BicheNara Festival (YBNF), a winter garden filled with colorful lights, at Omok Park and Yeonui Park for two months from December 22 to February 29 next year.
Following last year's Paris Park and Anyangcheon, this year's park light festival will be held at the newly renovated Omok Park and the beloved ecological learning site Yeonui Park. It promises to gift all residents a romantic winter night ahead of Christmas and the New Year.
At Omok Park, a light sculpture mysteriously depicting trees stands at the center of the corridor central garden, with radial string lights extending up to the second-floor skywalk, adding a sense of spaciousness to the area. On the skywalk floor, multicolored circular bulbs reminiscent of the Milky Way are arranged, and in the direction of the children's forest rest area, tree lights and snowflake-shaped lights create a 'Forest of Light.' In the direction of Forest Lounge I, character lights shaped like Christmas presents are displayed, and next to Omok Art Museum, a blue heart tunnel is installed. The deck walking area features a unique photo zone in the form of a frame with trees and snowmen, and string lights guiding visitors extend to the park's outer edges.
At Yeonui Park, themed 'BicheNara Five-Color Forest,' visitors can find various unique photo spots, including large tree lights using the park's symbol of three poplar trees, a 'Bridge of Light' wrapping the deck walkway crossing the wetland center, entrance sculptures on both sides, character and rainbow lights symbolizing the Year of the Dragon in Gapjin year, three-dimensional tree light sculptures, and trees draped with multicolored bell-shaped lights.
The lighting ceremony marking the start of the 3rd Yangcheon BicheNara Festival will begin at 5 p.m. on December 22 at the central garden of Omok Park, just before Christmas. On this day, which is also the winter solstice with the longest night of the year, a 'Concert in the Forest' featuring carols and pop songs will warm the deepening winter night, followed by the lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. to announce the energetic start of the two-month-long light festival.
Lee Gi-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “This winter, I hope families create unforgettable memories together in the nearby urban gardens where the 3rd Yangcheon BicheNara Festival has returned.”
